AGTBE in brief

AGTBE has been set up in 1995 as a professional association for the Egyptian Chevening Scholars to promote links between the scholars, trainees and alumni of the British universities in Egypt. The association aims at engaging its members in social, educational, cultural and professional activities that capitalize on the caliber and knowledge of the members, with the purpose of contributing to the social and economic development of Egypt.

The association through its members and committees aims at establishing and maintaining the link between the scholars and alumni in Egypt and the universities and professional bodies in Britain . AGTBE focuses on three main dimensions;

  1. Professional development through organizing seminars and workshops conducted by distinguished experts and speakers from academia or the industry.
  2. Business development through establishing links between local companies and UK based companies and business institutions
  3. Social and cultural development through the organization of a number of social and cultural events for the members.

Objectives

  1. Developing and strengthening scientific and cultural relations among Egyptian graduates and trainees in Britain .
  2. Enhancing scientific and cultural relations between members of the association and scientific cultural institutions in Britain .
  3. Offering the necessary technical assistance and maintaining relations with Egyptian scholars traveling to Britain on British Council grants.
  4. Holding regular meetings and organizing courses and conferences to exchange experiences and knowledge in different areas for the purpose of developing the professional skills of members and enhancing their scientific and cultural awareness.
  5. Conducting scientific research and offering assistance to researchers working in the fields of interest of the association.
  6. Carrying out all scientific, cultural and social activities necessary for providing the above services to members of the association.
